Witness the vibrant cultural celebration at the annual Shinju Matsuri Festival’s opening Float Parade. 

Join the Broome community as they pay homage to their diverse heritage, parading through the town centre in a dazzling display of colours. The procession commences at the Broome Civic Centre at 3 pm, meandering down Hamersley Street, culminating at Male Oval in Chinatown.

Floating Lantern

Participate in The Floating Lantern Matsuri and send your heartfelt message to the universe! 

To participate in the float, we recommend pre-purchasing your lantern kit in advance of the festival as availability is limited.  You can decorate your lantern at home or at the Gantheaume Point end of Cable Beach on the day.

Lanterns will be launched into the water at sunset, so don’t forget to bring your swimming gear as there’s a chance of getting wet.

Opt for the VIP pass, which grants you event entry, access to the Floating Lantern VIP lounge, a floating lantern kit, an open bar throughout the event, and a special menu of Japanese canapes by Pica’s Kitchen served all evening.
