Visit the Horizontal Falls

Looking for a once in a lifetime, unique Kimberley experience? The Horizontal Falls is exactly that!

North of Broome is a spectacular and rugged landscape, isolated from civilisation. The horizontal falls is located at Talbot Bay in the Buccaneer Archipelago. So remotely located that this natural phenomenon is only accessible by air or by sea!

As the water escapes back into the sea after a huge Kimberley tide, the effect is a natural horizontal fall between McLarty Range outcrops. The gorges are approximately 300 metres apart.

Described by David Attenborough as… “One of the greatest natural wonders of the world”!

Go Horizontal Falls Tours offer tour options to suit everyone. Come join a full-day tour from Broome featuring return scenic flights and a fast boat cruise to take you deep into the heart of the wild Kimberley. The adventure begins with a scenic flight north-east over Cape Leveque and the Buccaneer Archipelago landing on the red dirt airstrip at Cockatoo Island. Then it’s all aboard the fast boats for a guided Kimberley cruise through Yampi Sound to Talbot Bay, including the Horizontal Falls. Returning to Cockatoo Island for your final flight, flying low across the Horizontal Falls and onto Broome for an aerial perspective of your day in the Kimberley.
